Garden of Nightingales

 

As we sat in the gloaming of Venasque, we heard the song of a nightingale. I’d never heard one before.  My companion identified it to me.  He knew that particular song and we stayed to listen to more of the magical gifts of summer evenings, which continue to  inspire many paintings.
